Acceptable Use Policy

Protecting Your Community

"At A Party" is a place to meet people, and it only works if everyone feels safe and can trust what they see. Please don't misuse the "At A Party" services. If you do, we may remove your content and suspend or terminate your account.

You agree not to use the "At A Party" services to engage in illegal, fraudulent or other wrongful conduct, including but not limited to the following:

Who you are

  • Using the Service if you are under 18, or letting anyone under 18 use your account;
  • Giving a false age, or using photos, videos or details that are not you or do not show you as you look now;
  • Impersonating another person, or pretending to be someone you are not, including creating a fake or "catfish" profile;
  • Running more than one account, or creating a new account after we have removed you;
  • Using your profile for a commercial purpose, including advertising, selling, fundraising, campaigning, promoting a business, or offering or advertising sexual services or paid relationships;

How you treat people

  • Harassing, bullying, stalking, threatening or intimidating anyone, or pressuring them to meet, to send images or to leave the Service;
  • Sending sexually explicit messages or images that nobody asked for;
  • Content or behaviour that is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, hateful or discriminatory, or that promotes hatred of a group of people;
  • Asking anyone for money, gifts or financial details, or running a romance scam, investment scam or any other fraud;
  • Blackmailing anyone, including threatening to share their images or messages (sextortion), or publishing someone's personal details (doxxing);
  • Sharing another person's private details, messages or images without their permission, or recording or collecting information about other users;
  • Writing about a friend or anyone else in a way that is untrue, abusive or hurtful when answering questions about them;

What you post

  • Photos, videos or text that are sexually explicit, depict graphic violence, hate symbols, drugs or drug paraphernalia, or are otherwise obscene, defamatory or unlawful. Our automated checks may remove these without warning;
  • Any image of a child, or any content that sexualises minors, or that involves human trafficking or the exploitation of any person;
  • Selling or offering drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods or anything else that is illegal, or asking for help to break the law;
  • Content that promotes, glamorises or gives instruction in self-harm, suicide or eating disorders, or that promotes violence or terrorism;
  • Content you do not own or have permission to share, or that shows an identifiable person who has not agreed to it;
  • Phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles or other contact details in your profile, answers or anything else other users can read. They are removed automatically, and trying to get around that is also a breach;
  • Spam, advertising, chain messages or bulk messages, and false or misleading information;

How you use the Service

  • Breaking any applicable law or regulation, or encouraging others to;
  • Infringing the intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights of anyone;
  • Trying to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts or our systems, whether by hacking, password guessing or any other means;
  • Sending viruses or anything destructive, or interfering with how the Service works, or placing an unreasonable load on it;
  • Probing, scanning or testing the Service for weaknesses, or getting round any security or technical protection;
  • Copying, decompiling or reverse engineering any part of the Service;
  • Collecting information about the Service or its users by scraping, or building any database from it;
  • Using the Service to train or test AI models, or trying to make your AI or anyone else's say or do something it should not;
  • Using third-party tools, bots or scripts to use the Service, or reporting someone falsely or to harass them;
  • Framing or mirroring the Service, or using our name, logo or trademarks without our written permission.

Not being interested in someone, or choosing not to reply, is never a breach of this policy: everybody is free to say no.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. If you come across content that is offensive, abusive, illegal, or otherwise in breach of this policy, or a user who is behaving abusively, please report it to us using the reporting tools within the app or via our contact form. You can also block abusive users using the tools within the app. If you ever feel you are in danger, contact the police on 999. If you or someone you know is thinking about harming themselves, the Samaritans are free on 116 123, at any time.

We will review every report and remove any content we find to be objectionable within 24 hours of receiving the report. Where a user is found to have posted objectionable content or to have behaved abusively, we will also eject that user by suspending or terminating their account.
